Working on some great new video content for the Alexander Chase website. Not the finished article by a long shot buy had a play with Keynote on the mac. Keynote has got some great features so wanted to do something simple for people to view. I enjoy working on web content and presentation material. Let me have your comments. It definitely needs some sound. I am listing some great new jobs at the moment so the PR market must be doing well even with all this recession talk!

Is RSS a job seekers most useful tool.

Searching for job vacancies isn’t especially easy if you are currently in a role. Calls from job agencies with all sorts of different positions can be distracting. One of things that can be made to work for you is a simple tool called RSS or Really Simple Syndication!

What is RSS. According to wikipedia..

Working with Team Executive

Had a great meeting with the Team Executive group last week. It’s a sub-group of Team. Team is an independent network of some large but mostly small to medium sized recruitment consultancies. Alexander Chase joined Team early into its’ life because I’d had previous experience of how valuable some of the relationships and knowledge sharing could be.

The Executive ‘group’ is new but it’s really starting to build momentum. There is an energy brought to the group that is already translating into results.

7 CV no nos

CVs usually come in all shapes and sizes! here's a few simple do nots!

1.     Use the word ‘employment’ – ‘yuck’ it sounds very ‘job centre’

2.     Use more than 3 pages – obvious!

3.     Overpagination – reduce number of fonts and sub-titles

4.      Over use italics – it just weakens the message

5.     Dates that are not easy to follow – hiding something?

6.     Include a full web link – either shorten it or properly ‘add link’

7.     PDF – why?
